hi..i am taking it for the same reason. i had irregular periods since i first got it at age 13. it would last for 2 weeks and was heavy. then before i went to college in fall 2003 i stopped having my period since that last may. i went to the gyno and gave me provera in jan 2004. i took it for 5 days, and my period started 3 days later. it lasted for a week but i had really bad cramps which i had only once in my life. now im taking it now for the third time..well im worried about some side effect that gives u dark patches on ur face....if so i will probably go on the pill.

hi I am 22 yrs old and now taking Provera for not having a period in 7 1/2 mths. The Dr's put me on that saying that it will help me start my period and get it regulated... I also want to have atleast one more kid in the future. My husband is in the Army so I am looking forward to getting preg again. Hopefully this one is a good preg. I have had several Bad Pregnacys b/c of all my female problems. If you can give me some advice on Provera Please do so that would be really nice. Thank you, Rachael LeJune

Hi, I'm 24 and I've been put on Provera. I've currently only missed my cycle for going on 4mos now, but i've been known to miss it for almost a year. This has actually gone on all my life since when I was little I started my period at 9yrs old; had it for 4 or 5 mos and then skipped for 4yrs until the age of 13. I too have had several bad pregnancies; in fact since i was 17 I've been pregnant 5 times and have miscarried all of them by the end of the 2nd month. I've been told even though the Provera followed by Ortho Tricyclin Lo may regulate my cycle once I come off the b.c I still may not be able to have kids. By the looks of everyone's responses you've all gotten your period 3 days after your final Provera pill. I've been put on it for 10 days. I take the 5th pill this evening. so hopefully I'll start my period in like 8 days. Y'all whom never really had bad cramps ever are very lucky. I've always had horrid cramps and would miss school or work because they'd be so bad that I literally couldn't get out of bed. I'm just glad I'm not the only one with these damn lack of cycle problems. I was feeling like a freak because I'm the only one i know. I'm sorry you guys have had problems getting pregnant; seems like every time I've wanted to get pregnant I didn't, but when I wasn't wanting to I would. I just have a problem where I can't go to term. I've read in some magazine that there's an actual "disorder" with our cases on how we don't have our periods regularly. It's where the uterin wall doesn't build up properly so there isn't anything to shed monthly. And if you get the cramps and bloating, but still no period the uterus may be shedding, but sending the mucus/blood elsewhere in the body instead of flushing it out of the body. I know that's a bit gross to hear, but I read it in a parenting magazine I think and wasn't sure if y'all knew about it. sorry for the extremely long reply. I'll end it now.

Hi I am 30 years old and currently have one child. I have not menstrated for seven years and have been unable to have another child despite many attempts. I have PCOD and Metformin is a med I took for that. I was on it for a year and nothing.I finally made an appointment with a spec. and he put me on provera to "bring down my cycle". Like clock work, it happened. He has now put me on Clomid, which I am due to start in one day, to "spark" ovulation. My clock is ticking and I want to have another child. This entire deal is new to me and was wanting to know if anyone had any pointers. I also found out none of this is covered by insurance! Ouch
:-( thank you in advance for your support.

I got off the pill in June 04 and have had 3 periods all of which have been forced by taking provera. My doc has also put me on fremera twice to ovulate and nothing happened. This time I am taking provera and Clomid afterwards. In the meantime, I've been taking metformin to increase my progesterone level (I'm taking it 3 times a day!, per doctor orders). I few questions I have:
1) I've been cramping worse than ever on provera this time. Is this ovulation?
2) Does Provera make you ovulate, or do I have to take Clomid or Fremera?
3) Does Clomid increase your chances of multiple eggs being released? my husband is freaking out about this part.
