Took my first dose of Risperdal/Risperidone (0.5mg) last night at 6PM. Experienced a slight sense of calm by 8PM. Slept better than ever, was able to wake in night when necessary, no lethargy after 8 hours of sleep. Feeling slightly less anxious than usual upon waking this morning. Blood pressure and pulse are surprisingly at target levels (BP/P usually high unless taking Atenolol (50mg)). Starting my day with my normal dose of Strattera (20mg) and my high dose of Provigil (200mg). Interested in how this good rest and eased emotions will influence my work today.

Slept well last night, solid REM dreams, but awoke this morning with terrible unease about meeting deadlines. Work yesterday was more productive than usual but suffered from numerous avoidable distractions. Yesterday's extra calm mood helped concentration but damaged motivation to drill deep into work. Predicting a resurgence of anxiety this morning will inspire a higher workload today, none the less, the Risperdal/Risperidone (0.5mg) has definitely stabilized mood. The girl says "less hostile and irritable already." Most notably, am able to complete mundane, unpleasant, repetitive tasks without severe distress. BP/P has definitely stabilized at (or even below) target levels despite high dose of Provigil (200mg) and no Atenolol - this is a first. Looking forward to removing Atenolol from Rx list.

Awoke too early this morning, unable to fall back asleep. Last night had the feeling the Risperdal/Risperidone is stealing my voracity. Wasting too much time on petty tasks and emotional trifles. Considering reducing dose to .25mg when seeing Dr in two days. Predicting ingenuity will be increasingly stifled until then. Still, work is progressing at above average rate do to reduced anxiety and intensity. Seems to be a trade off between big-picture vision and micro task perseverance.

Slept 9 hours, best dreams in years, awoke feeling centered and poised for work. Many distractions in schedule today. Interested in how well multitasking will go. Reflecting on yesterdays events doesn't cause as much as anxiety as would be expected. Yesterday was a disaster. Estimated 5 hours of sleep night before last, and 6 night before that. Awful side effects of Risperdal clearly a result of slight sleep disruption - agitation, moodiness, confusion, spatial disorientation, visual distortion while driving at night, bad fight with the girl... one of the worst. I have gone many days without any sleep before and never experienced anything as bad as what Risperdal caused after only mild sleep loss. Will need to add damage control to list of required distractions today. Yesterday's urge to reduce dose was result of disrupted judgment. Benefits of Risperdal (0.5mg) will outweigh side effects as long as sufficient sleep is maintained. In future, will keep militaristic discipline about going to sleep early. If sleep cannot be kept up, will need stronger measures (more than halving dose) to prevent disaster. Will get new prescription for Alprazolam (1mg) today incase sleep loss occurs again.

After intense damage control yesterday, the girl is very happy with me. Slept well. Took yesterday off for sick kid, no Provigil. Had some trouble falling asleep but not too much. Will try new Provigil schedule today, taking 100mg at 9AM and then the second 100mg at noon. Hoping to extend usual Provigil window from 9 hours to 12. Almost no anxiety this morning. Woke too early but was able to fall back asleep for a total of almost 9 hours.

Had to stop Strattera to lengthen sleep time. New drug schedule of 200mg Provigil when waking and .5mg Risperdal after dinner is steady, reliable and peaceful. Life is better than ever as long as sleep is not disrupted too early.

Social anxiety is getting much worse. Up to 1.5mg Risperdal now and NO relief from social anxiety despite new success at work. Seeing Asperger specialist Neurologist tomorrow, will need to discuss options.

My friend told me about this study where you discuss your sleep disorder and can get $275. I called this number 1-866-275-3879 X 5 and they gave me a survey link to go to. Pretty cool and easy. Thought other people might be interested.
