I've been on Lisinopril for my blood pressure since a stroke in November 2004. Once I got over the initial side effects of headache, stomachache, etc. I have had a dramatic increase in my libido. Nice side effect. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm glad you have had a good experience with Lisinopril. I had the opposite experience. My doctor presribed 2.5mg per day as a preventative for diabetes complications. I am in my mid-forties, but have not yet had any discernable complications after 27 years with the disease. I had no immediate side effects, but after a few weeks I realized the intenisty of my climax was greatly diminished. The only thing that had changed in my life was this drug. I quit taking it and things were back to normal after about a week. I can see how the action of the drug on the circulatory system could cause both your and my side-effect.

im 48, i was just perscribed lisinopril. for mild hypertension. i havent yet filled it because im worried about the problems it could cause with decreased libido or problem with erection.
but just had a bp check and it was 158/91.
guess ive got to make a decision. but, it was good to here if it causes the problem, and you go off the med. the problem goes away.
