Have been using Lisinopril 10mg for 6 days and have the dry cough from the back of my throat. I have been getting bad headaches from the coughing. Was just wondering if it gets a little better with time. I can deal with the lightheadedness but the headaches are getting annoying. Hope it gets the BP down. 185/96

Reporting back in after two months on 2.5mg tab. The little, annoying cough continues - I'm keeping Ricola coughdrops in business - but taking it at bedtime seems to have solved the dizziness problem. BP now averages 120/70. REALLY hate the cough.

I am definitely going to call my Doctor tomorrow and tell him about the cough and scratchy throat I've been experiencing. I thought I could live with it, but it's keeping me from sleeping, and I've had enough. Thanks to this forum! I thought I was losing my mind.

I posted a message in mid-May, but that has disappeared??? A few other posts following mine did also - a system glitch? Anyway - I reported that my "little" cough had worsened to the degree I was only getting 1-2 hrs sleep at night and driving the others in the family crazy. Enough! I cut back to half of my 2.5 tab for a week then quit. Cough went away after 3-4 days and have been feeling NORMAL ever since. BP is averaging 120-130/70-75 so far. Not going back unless it gets up to 140/80, and then I'm going to request something else. Lisinopril is obviously not meant for me.

Since I began taking lisinopril 2-3 months ago, I have developed a non-itchy rash, along with the cough. My doctor prescribed this med after I discontinued Topril XL ... on my own. Topril was awful.
Anyone else with the rash? How long did it take to clear?

I have been taking lisinopril at a low dose (5mg) for about 2 months. The cough has gotten a little better (it used to wake me up several times during the night) but the fatigue seems to have gotten worse. This is definitely not worth it, even though it worked to reduce the bp quite well. Has anyone else experienced the fatigue problem to the extent you had to quit the medication?

My husband took lisinopril for 2 days and presented to the hospital with what was thought to be a heart attack. After a stress test and monitoring, he was sent home with a beta blocker RX. He was on the beta blocker for 1 month and then our doctor put him back on lisinopril. He now suffers from extreme fatigue and several other adverse reactions and tells me that he feels worse than he's ever felt. I have just come across info that the heart-attack type problem that he experienced has happened to many other lisinopril users. He's going to his dr. tomorrow and demanding some answers as to why he was put back on somoething that is known to cause the exact thing he was hospitalized for. Are there any others out there who have had these reactions?

My wife, taking 20mg dosage lisinopril for three weeks now, was suddenly hospitalized and experiences nausea, light-headedness, chest pains, and we are not getting any family doctor support. Obviously, she did not feel this way before taking the medicine. Weaning her off this drug is imperative, but my quesion is how to safely wean her from lisinopril?

I'm 56 and started taking Lisinopril about 6 months ago. After the first month I decided to stop on my own. BP stayed around 130/80. Then I had a large meatball sub from Subway. BP went 190/115. I went back on Lisinopril. When I stop salt 100%, I get dizzy. Now, 30mg a day, I eat once a week at McD's; (watch large doses of salt) BP jumps around (because of food & work?)but max 140/90 and a low of 110/60. Ususlly 130/80. No noticable side affects.

hi heyhey,I,m 38 and i,ve just been put on lisinopril by my gp a week ago.I recently found out why I was feeling so ill and went to my gp who took my bp which was 277/117.He then took it another 3 times then put me on lisinopril and told me to make an app in 2 weeks for a blood test.I have to say it,s the best ive felt for years but because you,ve been on it and i,d like to know from yourself and anyone else whose been on it,what I might expect.For me I feel great but I,d like to have some sort of feedback if thats ok with you.

I was on Micardis HCT 40mg for my blood pressure and I went to see my Dr. to get the $4.00 rx and he put me on lisinopol,metoporal and clonidine and i am very concerned for all these medicines together, i've had bouts with edema but my echocardiogram was okay he said, i have to go to a charity hopital to get my doctors and he just gives all kinds of stuff that I don't know if it should be mixed together or not. Today I will start and I pray I don't have any side effects at all

Well, praying is always good. Ask God to show you what you should do. I also take several meds andmy hubby is on 18 of them! I did a drug interaction on his and it came up with 52 possible interactions! We are going to take the list with us to his next appt. with his cardiologist. You can google drug interactions and find some that will allow you to put a list of the drugs you are taking and it will give you every possible interaction.

I too am on Lisinopril and I had the same experience as you did. My blood pressure was extremely high even on a lower dose of Lisinopril, as a matter of fact, the last time I went before they upped the dosage they said my blood pressure was so high I should be having a stroke, but the higher dose is doing it's job and is also helping me to feel better.

I have been on Lisinopril for 2 weeks (5 mg). It is working well as far as lowering my BP (130/80 average now). The problem is that at night I wake up and my hand is numb. With massage, I get feeling back. During the day, it is only a tingling sensation. The tingling has recently spread to my feet. I will get off Lisinopril if there is no expectation that these simptoms will disappear. My Physician seems oblivious to these side effects possibly being caused by the medication. Anyone have any info on whether these side effects will pass?

I had some minor cramps in the bottom of me feet before starting Lisinopril, but since starting it I have had some severe leg cramps as well as the cramps on the bottom of my feet. Not sure if it's something I need to tell the doctor about as it doesn't seem to be as severe every morning. It's odd, it only happens in the morning when I wake up and go to get out of bed, then all heck breaks loose on me. This is the only other post I've come across on this and wonder how common cramps are for others.
