I started this drug, 25 mg HS on April 29 primarily because of sleep patterns with interrupted sleep and memeory problems, fatigue, etc. By about 1-2 weeks around May 8 I started noticing positive changes in my mood and thinking - just an increased sense of well-being, more energy, motivation, thinking was clearer, work went so much easier - this lasted about three weeks, and during this time, I increased the dose to 50 mg HS. I continued doing well - some side effects but these were mild. Then somewhere around the first or second week of June, I started noticing sleep problems again, with early AM awakening, and some anxiety, obsessiional thinking, insecurity, self-doubt tho not as bad as before. I upped the dose to 75 mg around June 19 and noticed no change at all. It was as if the medicine didn't work at all any more, altho I still noticed some mild side effect.

I don't know what happened. On July 10 I was started on Trazodone 50 mg HS, but it wears off too quickly and I still get interrupted sleep, as well as headache. What can I do?

Dear ajack,

Did you have any opportunity to talk to a doctor? [Confused] Or did you "self-prescribe".

Good luck !! [Smile]

Yes, I am working with my GP who says Trazodone is the one she uses most frequently for insomnia -
Just wondering what others think or know as well

I took nortriptyline started at 25mg 3 a day, then went to 50mg at bedtime. My insurance was cut and I have not had it in about 3 weeks. Could there be affects from not getting my medication?
