Hey everyone. What a relief to know that I am not the only one out there suffering from this. I am 21 and I have been suffering from chronic hives for over a year now. As has everyone else I have done everything in my power to figure out what the cause is and no one can give me a cure or an answer. I have tried allergist, dermatologist, internal medicine specialist and even a naturopath. Nothing worked. I have been on steroids to control it. My highest dose was 32mg and my lowest dose was 1mg. I have also tried doxepin, and attarax. I cannot take them because they make my heart race at a hundred miles an hour. Steroid and a daily anti histamine are the only thing I have found to control it. I have been trying for over a month now with cutting tartrazine or yellow dye # 5. I have read that an allergy to that can often be mistaken for chronic hives. My results are unconclusive at this point cause I am still on steroids. But I welcome new ideas and suggestion from anyone who has found something that worked for them.
