I have had two back surgeries in the past two months. My neurologist has put me on another round of steroids to help with the inflamation. I have told him that I have been on steroids before and they made me feel crazy. He said he never has heard this before. So the first time I took the steroids I was on a very strong pain killer and I didn't have that crazy feeling. This time however, I am only taking a mild pain killer and I am completly going out of my mind. Yesturday I cried my self to sleep (if you can call sleep-waking up every 10 minutes) I asked my doctor to give me a sedative and he acts like I am making all this up in my head. Am I?

Your doctor is clueless as to what symptoms people get when taking steroids. Feeling of paranoia and heightened selfness; crying spells, etc. Wish doctors knew as much about side effects of prednisone as they do about why they give it out so readily.

My Dr placed me on this today, already I can not sleep, sick to my stomach, jittery. I agree wish dr's knew just what they give their patients.
