Hi all, newbie here and 9 days into taking 20mg Fluoxetine.
Now, my question is this. I began taking the 'F' on last Sunday the 15th. (early morning), by 2am Sunday Night (Monday morning) I have a severe head cold, sore throat, chest congestion, the works. All came on out of the blue like a mack truck hit me. I spent the following two days in bed. Fevered, sore, achey, snotty and went through 3 whole rolls of toilet paper blowing my nose this week.
What I considered to be one of my summer colds, (although it had been a long time since I had been sick) today it still holds on to me. The nasal congestion is much better, but still snotty and coughing alot. My hubby was sick over a month ago, to which I never caught it, so I figured it had just now caught up with me.
I now, looking back, think it has something to do with starting the F pills.
Also, i have a rash developing on my back. It started by just a few small bumps the other day, to now is about the size of a baseball with another spot about 6 inches away from that spot, growing much more quickly.
I made an appt back with doc in the morning, to see if it is an allergic reaction. I have had pretty good results on the meds, as I seemingly am having better days. Oh, I failed to mention I was put on the F pills for panic attacks.
Basically I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a rash and cold/flu like symptoms? Especially someone taking the pills THAT day and developing cold symptoms?
I just find it odd. I hadn't been sick in so long, even after exposure to my husbands cold over a month ago and all the sudden I start taking these meds and get a massive headcold in the early am hours. And it has been with me since.
