I'm on my 12th day taking 20mg fluoxetine, and I feel like a zombie...all I want to do is sit and stare into space, I can't sleep and to be honest I just feel pretty stoned. Has anyone else felt like this, just completely detached and 'spaced'?
Let me know
Pixie xx

I have had weird side effects too but not really like those. I have been taking 20mg for a month and I sleep all the time, and when I sleep I get nightmares..I feel anxious but tired. Sometimes I get moody like mad then sad then happy then Im fine. I just have no energy to feel like doing anything productive.. I hear ppl say it can up up to 6-8 weeks before filling the full effects. Since Im going to my dr. tomorrow I'm going to ask him about it. I have been just taking the side effects hoping they will go away and Im not just a mental case. So we'll see. I say if your side effects keep bothering you too then go back or call your dr. and ask his/her opinion. Hopefully they can tell us what is going on.

Hello Pixie,

I totally know what you mean. I was pretty worried because I've been on Fluoxetine for 4 weeks now and I feel detached and like a zombie everyday now. The first 2 weeks actually werent that bad for me, but since the med started kicking in, after the 3rd week, I started feeling this way most of the time which makes me pretty uncomfortable. I'm going to see my psychiatrist tomorrow to see what she says. How are you doing on it now? If anyone has experienced this and wants to e-mail me to talk about it, my e-mail is thalita2@aol.com.

Thanks,

Thali.

I started taking 20 mg Prozac last week.I told my psychiatrist I wanted to go back on it.I wanted my energy and my weight loss to increase.I had taken it in the past and it was extremely effective.I thought I had heard Gods voice urging me to switch over from the Wellbutrin to the Prozac.Last week,at the same time I had started taking the Prozac,my back doctor was weaning me off of Cymbalta.Needless to say,I believe,I had quite a bit of a buildup of Seratonin in my system.I still feel like it is lingering because all I want to do is sleep all of the time.
Something quite interesting did happen to me today though.I was playing with my 5 yr old nephew and I literally became slap happy.I could not for the life of me stop laughing.I was laughing my rear end off.He did not like it one bit.I could not stop myself.I was like the energizer bunny.I just kept going and going and going. It was kind of strange.I wonder if this is the way it is supposed to be.Feel free to email me at kerrysmith4@verizon.net
