Oddly, trazodone/desyrel is known to help to reduce pain and night sweats. So, in a sense, one might have arrived at the conclusion that it's a muscle relaxant. And for me, it behaves like a heavy duty "hypnotic." A hypnotic drug is used to describe those old sleeping pills that would make one dizzy. The only thing is that Trazodone and those old sleeping pills, street name: reds/yellows, can't remember their real names, might not calm one down in the sense of stopping "self talking." So for some, another medication might be prescribed for anxiety. For me, trazodone hits me so fast and hard, I don't have time for self talk!
