I ballooned after taking this drug. gained forty pounds and it's hell getting it off. I exercise and do cardio and have only been able to shed twenty pounds. not bad but not even close to where I need to be. Getting off of the drug is not an option so it seems I have to just keep going. anyone else here experiance weight gain as a side effect? any tips?

I have been taking paroxetine for approx. 8 months and have gained about 30lbs. I haven't been able to lose any of the weight yet, but I'm starting a exercise program next week. I'll let you know how it goes....

I have been on paxil for about a year and I found that it actually helped me to lose weight. I was not constantly hungry, it curbed my appetite. I was also on remeron (mirtazipine)and it made me gain and eat like food was going out of style. I stopped that last summer. I am on trazodone now for sleep and depression and it is working well. I wish you all the best and hope that the weight gain is temporary. I know that it can be a side affect.
